Mini Skiing Vacation

Sunday after church, we drove to Wallace and stayed in the Wallace Inn on Sunday and Monday night.  It may have been a less than exciting family get away. We were all a bit grumpy.  Sunday night we went to dinner and played games and watched a show together.  We slept in Monday and got up to Lookout Ski Resort about 10:30. It was super cold and windy.  We all had a difficult time getting our gear on and may have been a bit whiny.  (Well not dad, but the rest of us.) I was so cold, Katie's feet hurt, you know, stuff like that.  Plus the parking lot was so full that we had to walk forever in our ski boots to get our lift tickets.  So not a good start.  We skied 3 runs, then Katie, Garret and I went in to the lodge to warm up.  Dad stayed out and skied by himself for a bit.  Then he joined us for lunch.  We skied 3 more runs and then went back to the Wallace Inn.  Our beds had been horrible on Sunday night, so dad got the people at the hotel to give us another room with better beds.  (Kirt calls me the princess and the pea because I am pretty picky about my bed and really can't sleep in a bad bed.) Thank goodness.  I slept so much better. It was New Years Eve.  Garret was the only one who stayed up to midnight.  He watched the ball drop with the sound turned off.  We are a bunch of party poopers.  Katie and I really didn't want to go skiing the next day, so dad and Garret went back up for a few hours.  They skied 8 runs in a little over 2 hours.  It's amazing how much skiing you can get done when no one is whining.  Katie and I just stayed at the hotel and played games in the lobby because we had to check out of our room.

Grammy and Pompa Get Set Apart and Leave on Their Mission

Grammy and Pompa got set apart today by our stake President, President Byers.  It was aweomse to be there.  We are so excited that they are serving a mission, but we are really going to miss them.

And they are off.  They are heading to the MTC for a week and then on to NY.

Tucking Katie In Bed

Katie loves to be tucked in a night before she goes to bed.  Grammy is much better at doing it than I am.  Grammy tucked her in most nights while she was living with us these last 3 1/2 months.  This is Katie's last tuck in before Grammy leaves on her mission.  Katie says she is going to miss Grammy more than she misses Tanner.

One Last Family Dinner

We had one last family dinner at HuHot before Grammy and Pompa leave on their mission.

Brooke's Wedding

Brooke got married on December 28th to David Gittins in the Salt Lake Temple.  Kirt went down for the wedding.  (It was a super fast trip.  He flew down late Thursday afternoon, went to the sealing Friday morning, the luncheon in the afternoon and then flew home Friday night.)
Engagement photos (Aunt Kim took them, and the bridals and the pictures of the wedding day)

Christmas Card 2018

Christmas 2018

Christmas 2018 was super low key.  We had Christmas Eve at Jon and Michelle's house.  We had lots of food, did a white elephant gift exchange, played Deal or No Deal, acted out the Nativity and opened our PJ's. Then we came home and the Crandall's came over and visited.  I was on call Christmas Eve and luckily didn't have to work. We opened presents at 8am on Christmas Day. We talked to Tanner at 9 for 45 minutes.  Then we went up to Cameron and Rachelle's for Christmas breakfast.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing the games we got for Christmas.  We had some friends over that night to visit.
The beer hats were a hot commodity in the white elephant gift exchange.

Talking to Tanner was the best Christmas gift that I got!! He looked so good and seemed happy and to really be enjoying his mission.
