Liberty Lake Hike

I hiked to the Liberty Lake waterfall and back with some friends.  It was 7 miles total. The waterfall had lots of water in it.  I hiked with Jess Carlson, Emily Koenig, Natalie Smith, Maren Longhurst, and Brenda Vernon.  

 

Garret's 16th Birthday

I failed as a mother for Garret's 16th birthday.  He had ZERO presents to open on his birthday.  I had ordered them, but non of them showed up in time for his birthday.  I tried to print off his license because he really wanted to drive to school, but it said he needed an eye exam (which should have been done when he got his permit) so we had to go into the DOL after school to get his license.  He did get it that day and was so excited to be able to drive.  We went to dinner for his birthday at Outback Steakhouse.  On Saturday, I made it up to him and made him breakfast and had his presents all wrapped.  Grammy made him a birthday dinner on Sunday and we had cake and ice cream.  So he got a birthday week and not just a birth day.  I can't believe my baby is 16!

Kirt's 50th Birthday

Kirt turned 50 today! Wow that is old.  For his 50th birthday, I had 50 people write him a letter about something they loved about Kirt or about a memory they had with him.  I was able to collect 56 letters.  Kirt really is loved! He is such a great guy, and we are so lucky to have him. We got take out from Thai Kitchen for his birthday lunch.  So yummy!

He also got 2 new swimsuits.  He really needed them. 

 

Katie Leaves on Her Mission

Katie flew to the MTC in Mexico City today.  We will miss her so much, but she will be an awesome missionary.  Bye Katie!

 

Katie's Open House

We had an open house in our front yard so people could come by and say goodbye to Katie before she leaves on her mission.  We forgot to take very many pictures, but are grateful to all the friends and family that came by to wish Katie well.

Katie's Last Day at the Lake

Katie really wanted to go to the lake before she left on her mission.  We tried to go last weekend when Tanner and Emilie were here, but it was too cold and rainy.  Today was 80 degrees, so she got to go.  We got the boat and jet ski launched, the yard cleaned a little (it was really soggy), the trailer set up and then we went out on the boat.  Katie, Garret, Kirt, and Mary went wake surfing.  I wanted to but the water was cold and my back is still healing. Not sure if Katie was supposed to go to the lake as a missionary, but we decided it was a good family activity. 

They have installed new power at the lake and dug some ditches to install it.  Both Garret and I stepped on the ditch and sunk up to our knees in mud.  I had my flip flop on and wasn't sure I was going to get it out of the mud.

Emily's Birthday

I went for a walk with Delphia the morning of my birthday.  When I came home, Tanner and Emilie were just finishing cleaning out under the carport.  They had cleaned the back yard up really well yesterday.  What awesome birthday gifts.  I love acts of service!  Katie got me a beautiful picture of Christ.  Garret got me the game Exploding Kittens.  Kirt got me and Applebees gift card and said that he would even go with me to eat there (Applebees is not his favorite place to eat.) Kirt, Tanner, Emilie, Katie, Garret, Grammy, Pompa and I went to Cafe Rio for lunch.  Then Tanner, Emilie, and I went hatchet throwing at Heber Hatchets.  It was really fun.  Then we went to Garret's tennis match.  We went to Costco on the way home and bought steaks and Kirt grilled yummy steaks for my birthday dinner.  It was a really good birthday.  My most favorite part was that I got to spend it with all my kids and my husband.  

 

Family Visit-Sunday

Sunday we went to church. Then right after church, we went to the stake center and she got set apart as a missionary.  She is now an official missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Pretty awesome!! We went home and had lunner with Grandma and Grandpa Christensen and then they went home.  We went and had shakes at Grammy's house and saw Jon and Cam and their families.  Ender fell and broke his arm.  The last time Tanner and Emilie were at Grammy's, Ollie feel out of the tree and broke his arm. 

 

Family Visit-Saturday

We were going to go to the lake today but it is raining and 50 degrees so we had to make a new plan. We played tennis at U-High.  Garret challenged Tanner and Garret won.  We played games with Grandma and Grandpa. In the evening we went to the temple and did sealings.  Then we went to Choo Choo Tortas for dinner. 

 

Family Visit-Friday

 Tanner and Emilie and Grandma and Grandpa Christensen came to Spokane to see Katie before she leaves for her mission.  Friday morning, Tanner, Emilie and Katie helped me to spread bark.  It was so nice to have their help.  Then Grandma and Grandpa Christensen came over for lunch and to play games.  Friday night we did family pictures.  It was raining again. We got rained out last May when we tried to do pictures and ended up doing them in August. We couldn't put them off until August this year, so our photographer found an indoor place for us to take them.
