Garret's 2nd and Last Cross Country Meet

Garret had his 2nd and last cross country meet today.  (He didn't get to compete in the 1st one because he didn't have enough practices because he missed some when we went to Boise to watch Tanner play basketball.  And the season was super short because of Covid.)  He ran against Bowdish and Greenacres.  It wasn't his best race.  He learned that practice really does make you better because he really didn't get very much practice in because of the shortened season and he didn't get a chance to really get in shape.

Garret's Cross Country Meet

Garret had a cross country meet at North Pines.  He got 7th place and ran his mile and a half in 11:39.  He ran his first race in 12:00 so he improved by 21 seconds.  Way to go Garret!

Grandma and Grandpa Christensen Came to Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Christensen came to visit.  They drove up and got here on Monday afternoon.  I had to work Monday, so Katie had dinner ready for them.  I worked again Tuesday, so Katie and Garret entertained them (since they had school online that day), and Katie made them dinner again.  Wednesday, Katie and Grandma went shopping for quitting materials for some quilts that Katie wants to make. They got to see Garret compete in a very rainy cross country meet on Wednesday afternoon.  Thursday since the kids were in school in person, they went to lunch with their friends the Whites from Vernal who happened to be in Spokane visiting their daughter who lives in Spokane (small world).  Thursday night, Tanner and Emilie came over for dinner and to visit.  It was the first time that they had seen Tanner since before his mission and the first time that they got to meet Emilie.  They drove home Friday morning.  It was good to see them!

Tanner and Emilie Visit

Tanner and Emilie flew back from St George on Friday and spent the last of their spring break with us.  On Friday afternoon, we played volleyball at the stake center.  Friday night we had a fun family dinner of BBQ hamburgers and tater tots.  Saturday, we went to Jon's house and the 4 kids rode Jon's e-bikes around the neighborhood.  Saturday afternoon, we watched Gonzaga play basketball.  Saturday night, Katie had to work and Garret had a birthday party, so Kirt and I took Tanner and Emilie to dinner.  We went to Rancho Viejo.  Sunday, Tanner and Emilie came to church with us.  It was the first time that Tanner has been to our ward since before his mission because of Covid.  We had a fun family dinner.  Then Grammy and Cam and Jon's families came over for shakes (Pompa had to quarantine for his cardio version). They all got to meet Emilie.  Tanner and Emilie were telling us how their first date actually came about.  Tanner said that Emilie slid into his DMs.  Most of us grown ups had no idea what that meant so they had to explain to us that it meant that she sent him a message on Instagram.  Then we all laughed as Jon got to explain what "that's what she said" meant to Grammy because she didn't know what that meant either.  We all had some great laughs.  Tanner and Emilie had to go back to school Sunday night and we miss them already.

Everyone had to stand on their tippy toes. I threatened them that they would NOT do that in the wedding photos.

Visiting with the fam.  Maddie loved Emilie.

St Patrick's Bagpipes

Kurt came and played the bagpipes for us for St Patricks Day.  The rest of the group didn't come because of Covid, but it was still fun to hear him play.  It was fun to see Grandma and Courtney and Alex and her family.  We haven't seen them in a year because of Covid.
