AAU Basketball Trip to Bellevue

Garret had a AAU tournament in Bellevue WA this weekend.  Kirt took him over to his tournament. 

 

Katie's Fun Before Her Mission

Katie got home from BYU and only had 2 weeks before going on her mission so she had a lot things that she wanted to do before she left.  She had a calendar on the fridge with all the things we wanted to do. Today Katie and I went to the temple.  Then we ran a bunch of errands, went to lunch and got pedicures.  Then we went to Twisted Sugar and got sodas and went and walked around Manito Park.  After we went to a Gonzaga baseball game for Ike's birthday.  Kirt and Garret headed out a lunch time for Seattle for Garret's basketball tournament. 

 

Leaving BYU

Katie and I got to Provo from Phoenix about 9pm.  We had to rush back to Katie's apartment and clean because she had her cleaning inspection at 10pm that night.  We finished packing up her stuff and went to bed.  I slept on Lilly's bed since she had already left.  We got up Monday morning and loaded up all of Katie's stuff in her car.  Then Katie took her last final at the testing center while I ran a few errands for her (and got a parking ticket which luckily they were nice enough to waive for me).  Then we hit the road.  On our drive Katie made a playlist of the Taylor Swift songs that she heard at her concert.  We drove to Boise that day and hung out with Ryan, Angela, Kathleen, and Cody.  It was the first time we got to see Kathleen since she got home from her mission.  She told us lots of mission stories.  We slept there and got up early Tuesday morning and headed to Spokane.  We got home in time to go and watch Garret's tennis match.  

 

Arizona Trip

We went to Arizona to watch Garret play basketball.  We also made it our last family trip before Katie leaves on her mission and Katie, Tanner, and Emilie joined us.  Kirt, Garret, Tanner, Emilie and I flew in to Phoenix on Thursday night. We rented an Air BNB and did some sight seeing.  

Friday Katie flew in and we picked her up.  Then we went to Goldfield Ghost town.

Then we went and did the Dolly Steamboat Tour on Canyon Lake.  It was very scenic, but also very hot and we were wishing we had our swim suits.

Saturday we went to top golf.

We got to go to lunch with Jared Justice and his wife Claudia.  Jared is Kirt's friend from his mission in Costa Rica.  It was so fun to catch up with them. 

We went back to the Air BNB and went swimming before going to watch Garret play his 1st basketball game.  He had 2 games on Saturday afternoon.

We went to an El Salvadorian restaurant between the games.  The papusas were so yummy.

Tanner, Emilie, Katie and I flew home on Sunday night.  I flew back to Provo with Katie to help her move home from BYU.  Kirt and Garret flew back to Spokane on Monday morning.
