Cuba Day 5

The patio at our bed and breakfast.
Breakfast at the bed and breakfast.
We went for a short hike this morning (more like a walk) and saw where people lived, their farms and some very interesting looking plants.  This one was really cool because the leaves shriveled up when you touched it.

A playground in the town. There was also a baseball field with a game being played on it.  They love baseball in Cuba.

A visit to a plant garden.

All the different types of food that they grow in the plant garden.
Kirt took the kids horse back riding in the afternoon.  I stayed back and read my book.

They went to a place where they make cigars.
Garret was obviously super interested in cigar making.

They rode the horses to a cave that they got to explore.

Then they got to swim in a lake. (The horse back ride was advertised as a horse back ride to go swimming in a cave.  We found that lots of things in Cuba were not as they advertised.)

We went to dinner at this place that grows all of the food right at the restaurant.  They brought out so much food that there was no way we could have ever finished it all.

 Look at all that food.

Cuba Day 4

Last breakfast in Havana
Our room in the bed in breakfast in Havana.  We had another room too with a bathroom in between.
We stopped at a waterfall on our drive today. Cuba is having such a drought that there was barely any water coming over the falls.

This is what the waterfall usually looks like.
This was a weird fruit that our driver found us.

The car that we rode around in.  We hired a driver because if you get in an accident in Cuba, they won't let you leave the country until everything is resolved which can sometimes take up to 6 months.
This sign pointed the direction of different cities in the world.

Random cow in the city center.
Kirt loved all the signs that were on the roads as we were driving

Kirt loves to take pictures of his food.
This is the bed and breakfast that we stayed in Vinales.

We went to a hotel in the town and went swimming.

Gonzaga men's basketball team was in the final four so we had to find a place to watch the game. We watched it in the lobby of the hotel where we went swimming.  They won!! They are going to the finals!
