Personal Progress Award and Honor Bee

Katie received her Personal Progress Award for the 2nd time and her Honor Bee.  We are so proud of her.  She is an amazing young lady.  She worked so hard to finish these.  Way to go Katie!

Cam and Boston

We had Tanner's basketball friends Cameron Cavanaugh and Boston Tacke over for dinner.  It was so fun to see them.  It made me really miss Tanner.
 Cam's mom Chris came too!

Playing Games

Kirt actually played games with us tonight so we had to document it with a picture.  The kids and I play games all the time, but Kirt doesn't usually play with us.  He taught us how to play Code Word, a new game that we got for Christmas.

Kirt Got Released As Bishop

After serving as the Bishop of our ward for the past 5 years, Kirt was released today.  It is always bitter sweet.  He loved being Bishop and will miss the love and strength that he received from the ward, but he will not miss all of the problems and the huge amount of time that it takes to be Bishop.  He was called on January 4th 2015 and released on January 5th 2020.  His counselors when he was called were Chris Zapalac and Wade Poulsen.  Then ward clerk was Gary Olsen and executive secretary was Andrew Thurber.  About 1 year later Andrew Thurber was changed to the ward clerk and Steve Cole was called as the executive secretary.  Then at about 2 years in, Andrew Thurber was released and put into the Elders Quorum Presidency and Mark Crandall was called as the ward clerk.  At about 2 1/2 years in, President Byers suggested that Kirt release his counselors and train 2 new ones, so he released Chris and Wade and called Joe Osborn as the 1st counselor and Cal Archer as the 2nd counselor.  In March of 2019, our ward boundaries were changed and Kirt lost all of his Bishopric except Mark Crandall.  His new 1st counselor was Jevonn Wiberg and 2nd counselor was Chris Wherity.  His executive secretary was Steve Porter.  The Porters moved in September and so Cary Fry was called as the executive secretary.  So he had a total of 6 different counselors, 4 executive secretaries and 3 ward clerks. Kind of crazy, but it gave him the chance to work with a lot of great men.

Cary Fry, Jevonn Wiberg, Kirt, and Mark Crandall (Chris Wherity was out of town)

Panera Date

Kirt, Katie, and I went on a date to Panera tonight.  We got the coveted table by the fire.  Such fun family bonding. (Garret was at a birthday party.)

Katie and Kirt's Hike

Katie and Kirt went for a hike at Iller Creek.  It was really cold and windy and also really slippery.  Katie feel one time and Kirt feel 3 times.

New Years Day Party

We had some friends over for a New Years Day Party.  The kids had fun playing games in the basement while the adults talked upstairs.  They played what if and the couch game.  These are the families that came: Zapalac, Crandall, Tolley, Spear, Wiberg, Palmer.
