Spear Family Reunion

Jessy and her family came to Spokane and we played hard.  Unfortunately Ryan and his family were not able to come because they were taking Brandon to the MTC right in the middle of the family reunion.  

Wedneday August 3rd, we had a bouncy water slide at Michelle's house.  (I was at the YW high adventure so didn't get to attend.)

Friday August 5th Grammy, Jessy, Garret, and I hiked to the top of Iller Creek.  In the afternoon we went swimming at Megan Guinn's house. 

Saturday August 6th  Jessy, Michelle, Grammy and kids tie dyed t-shirts.  (The Christensen family had a day at the lake to themselves.)

Sunday August 7th after church, we packed up and all went to the Wagstaff's Cabin on CDA. They were kind enough to let us stay there for the week. 

Monday August 8th was Jack and Annie's 8th birthday.  We opened presents.  Then we went and hiked Tubs Hill and went cliff jumping and swimming in CDA Lake.  We went to the CDA park and played at  the splash pad and played pickle ball.  We went back to the cabin and went swimming.  We played games and took naps. Then we decorated cookies and cake for Jack and Annie's birthday.

Tuesday August 9th we went to Spirit Lake

Wednesday August 10th we went to Silverwood.  We went to Bolder Beach, the water park 1st, and then to the amusement park.  Jessy and I left after the water park with Jack, Will, and Lucy.  Tanner, Emilie, Katie, Garret, Nixon and Josh stayed together.  Michelle stayed with Ike, Scarlett, and Annie.  Cam and Rachelle stayed with their kids.  

On Thursday August 11th we went to Tree to Tree.  It's a ropes course at Farragut State Park. Afterwards we went back to the cabin and Taraka came out and did our family pictures (in a separate post). Then we went swimming again.  Nixon showed us some magic tricks and we celebrated Nixon's birthday.  That night about 8:00pm, the power went out.  We didn't know when it would turn back on, so most everyone went home.  All of the Christensen's stayed plus Josh, Annie, and Nixon.  We played games with flashlights.  Thankfully, Jessy and Pompa took all the sheets and towels home and went to a laundry mat.  We would have been there forever washing the next day.  

Friday August 12th, those of us that stayed at the cabin, got up and cleaned the cabin.  Grammy and Jessy brought all the laundry back and helped too. Later in the afternoon, Michelle and Jessy's kids went to Flying Squirrel.

Saturday August 12th was Jack and Annie's baptism.  We went swimming at the Guinn's in the afternoon. 

Sunday August 13th, we played minute to win it games and had milk shakes at Grammy and Pompa's clubhouse. 

Monday August 14th, we went to Spirit Lake again.

YW HIgh Adventure

We did a YW High Adventure on August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  On the 2nd, we met at the church at 8am and drove up to Lookout Pass and rode the Hiawatha Trail.  Bishop and Jolene and Chris Wherity came with us.  Cary Fry helped to drive our bikes up (he really saved the day!).  He didn't ride with us, but went hiking with his dog. We rode the trail down and rode the bus back up.  You have to go through the mile long tunnel again after riding the bus and one of our girls almost didn't make it back through, but she did it. After riding the Hiawatha Trail we drove to Spirit Lake (with a stop off at McDonald's for drinks and cookies).  We set up camp at Spirit Lake and had dinner.  We had a fireside that night with a devotional and s'mores.  

August 3rd after breakfast we went for a short hike.  The hike had a cool view point of the lake.  After the hike, we spent the day playing in the water.  We played on the water mat, kayaked and paddle boarded and went tubing.

August 4th we went and did the Tree to Tree ropes course. It was really scary, but everyone tried at least a part of it. I couldn't keep my camera out so I didn't get any pictures.
