Halloween 2020

Our ward had a Walk-A-Boo for our Halloween party this year.  It was on the day before Halloween. It was kind of like progressive dinner.  It was in our neighborhood and people walked from house to house and got hot dogs, donuts, hot cocoa and more! It was lots of fun.  I hosted the hot cocoa station.

Jon and Cam's family came over on Halloween night and went trick or treating in my neighborhood.  Katie and Garret were both gone, so it was fun to have trick or treaters at my house.

Garret went trick or treating with Peyton and Jaden in Peyton's neighborhood Midilome East.  

Garret got 22 pounds of candy trick or treating.  

Katie went to a party at Madison's for Halloween.  She and Tanaeya dressed up like hippies.

Work Update

 My work has been crazy the last few months.  We have had a ton of nurses quit or be on leave because of health reason.

Amber Haney night nurse-got a day job

Gina Downhour day nurse, nursery-retired

Susanna Crupper day nurse-on leave with breast cancer

Betty Clary night nurse-on leave with breast cancer that has metastasized to her eyes

Diane Belyea day nurse-on leave with uterine cancer

Judy Anderson supplemental leave with heart problems (coded on the table when having an oblation)

Katie Dixon day nurse-on maternity leave, quit after her maternity leave was done and moved to Vermont

Lori Owens night nurse nursery-passed out at work in the bathroom one night, quit because of health reasons

Nikki Weed night nurse-hired after some of the nurses quit, already quit and is going supplemental

Shelley Northern manager-quit, job was too stressful, was in the ER with ulcers

Like I said, it's been a crazy few months.  We need a new manager and a bunch of new nurses. I have been working 2-3 times a week.  Hopefully it will get better soon.  Just hope that no one gets COVID.

Visiting Tanner in Moscow

Garret had a basketball tournament in Lewiston this weekend. Lewiston is about 20 minutes from Moscow.  Garret's 1st game was 8am on Saturday morning. So we got a hotel in Moscow and were going to spend Friday evening with Tanner and then spend the night in Moscow and go to Garret's game in Lewiston in the morning.  Garret's tournament ended up getting canceled on Thursday.  Since we already had the hotel room, we decided to still go down and see Tanner.  We went down Friday afternoon.  It was snowing so much.  We got about 6.5 inches in Spokane.  It broke the record for the snowiest day in October.  We went to dinner with Tanner at Winger's and then went back to our hotel room to play games.  The next morning, we got up and went to breakfast at Shari's, took a tour of the campus, and drove home.  It was fun to see Tanner.  He is having great time at school and really enjoying playing basketball.  We returned home to a mess.  The trees still have all their leaves, so the snow was too heavy on the trees and caused a bunch of branches on our trees to break off.  Plus there are a ton of leaves on the ground under the snow. What a pain!

Tanaeya's Birthday

For Tanaeya's birthday, Katie Tanaeya and Mary got their nails done.  Then they dressed up and went to the board walk in CD'A and took pictures and went to dinner at Texas Road House.  (They took a short stop on the way home for Katie to meet Emilie Leavitt, the girl Tanner is dating that is going to school at NIC.) Then they had a sleep over at our house. 

 

YW President

 I was called as the YW president in our ward today.  My counselors are Tiffani Zapalac and Delphia Fry.  I don't have a secretary yet.  The 16-17 advisor is Susan Damiano, The 13-14 advisor is Marianne Wherity, and the 12-13 advisor is Audra Ladwig.

New Phillips Creek Trail

They made a new trail near Ponderosa Elementary called Phillips Creek Trail.  Katie, Garret, and I went and hiked it today.  It has a pretty view of the valley. Katie and Garret couldn't stop bugging each other so it seemed like a long hike. 

 

Outback Steak

While the girls were watching the Women's Session of conference, Kirt and Garret went to Outback for dinner.  They picked up take out from Cafe Rio for the women to eat after conference on their way home.
