Garret went on his 1st official campout with the Deacons. The leaders that went were Cary Fry (scout master), Brad Murray (YM president), Dave Mallonee (dad and in the stake presidency). The boys that went were Garret, Sam Javier, Nolan Orndorff, Nathan Mallonee, Braiden Porter, Lincoln Murray, Cole Olsen, and Drew Fry (9 year old son of the scout master). They had a blast. They played ultimate mitt (they didn't have a frisbee), capture the flag, and captured 6 frogs. For dinner roasted hot dogs and s'mores. Garret, Sam, and Nolan had a chubby bunny contest to see who could put the most marshmallows in their mouths at one time. Garret won with 12 marshmallows. (Cary Fry put 33 marshmallows in his mouth when he was a boy.) All of the boys shared one tent so of course they didn't get much sleep. In the morning they went on a hike and jumped across the river. They had to jump downhill and had to get a log to put across the river to get back. They walked around the lake. When they went back they had breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Then they had to pack up. Brother Murray brought Garret, Sam, and Lincoln home early because they had a baseball game.
