At practice on October 18th, Tanner got elbowed in the nose by Ethan Kilgore and broke his nose. A few days later, Emilie got Covid from a coworker. Tanner got his nose reset on Friday. The Dr had to crack his nose 3 times to get it back into place. Tanner was cleared to return to play and started the concussion return to play protocol on Sunday the 24th. He felt good on Sunday and Monday, but then on Tuesday he started getting a bad headache. He thought it was from the concussion, but then on Wednesday the 27th, he also started feeling sick and tested positive for Covid. So he is now out for another 10 days. He was pretty sick for a few days, but hopefully both he and Emilie recovered. Tanner had to get an EKG and an Echo on November 8th and was cleared to start the Covid and concussion return to play protocols. For the concussion, he couldn't have any contact and for Covid he had to wear a heart monitor and couldn't let his heart rate get higher than 85% of his resting heart rate. He got to play in his first game against WSU on November 18th. He had to miss his first 5 games. He was really bummed that he had to miss games and be out for a month. He had worked really hard to get into shape, and it was hard to not do anything for so long, but he's excited that he gets to finally start playing.
