Sunday we got up and went to church in the Palmyra Ward. They said there was 1,200 people there. There were people filled in the chapel, gym, stage and then people in all the rooms like the RS room and primary room. Garret and Kirt got to help pass the sacrament. They had 30 people passing it. We stayed for the 2nd hour. Then we went to the Sacred Grove. We walked around the grove. You can just feel the spirit so strongly there. We read from the 1st vision and Jessy and Pompa bore their testimonies of the sacredness of this special place. Then we went to the visitors center. We saw Joseph Smith’s parents 1st log home and their 2nd home in Palmyra. The 1st home is a replica but the 2nd home is mostly original. We also saw their barn. We walked through the sacred grove again. Then we went to see the Palmyra temple. It is just like the Spokane temple. Afterwards we went to the Hill Cumorah and climbed to the top of if. We couldn’t go to the top yesterday because it was closed for the pageant. There is a cool statue of Moroni at the top.
Then we parted ways with Grammy and Pompa. They had to go back to their mission. It was so hard to say goodbye to them. Jessy and her family and our family drove to Niagara Falls. We walked around the falls on the US side. We went to the observation deck and then rode the elevator down to the base of the falls. We got really wet down there because of the spray from the falls. Then we drove over to the Canadian side. The view from this side is so incredible. We are staying in a hotel that has an awesome view of the falls. They put lights on the falls at night and have a short firework show and we could see all of that from our hotel room.
They had sacrament tables in the back of the gym because they knew that they were going to have lots of people at church today because of the Hill Cumorah Pageant.
