Kirt had to have some of the tissue from the roof of his mouth cut off and grafted on his gum line because his gums were receding and exposing the nerves and bones. He had to have sedation so he was supposed to take someone with him to drive him home. I had to work, so Katie took him. She was mortified when the person who was discharging Kirt asked her if she was his wife. Katie was really hoping that Kirt would say something funny afterwards like she did when she got her wisdom teeth out. Unfortunately, he didn't really say anything funny. He would just sort of zone out in the middle of a sentence and kind of drift off because he was so sleepy. He slept most of the day after the surgery.
