Today we got up at 4:45am and were picked up at our Airbnb at 5:15am. We drove 3 hours to the port to go and visit the San Blas Islands. Garret unfortunately got car sick and we had to pull over so he could barf. Thankfully, he did not barf in the car. When we got to the port, we got in a boat and rode to a island that had lots of people living on it. Our guide taught us about life on the island and gave a us a tour of the island. Of course there were plenty of things for sale on the island made by the islanders. Then we went to the island that we are staying on and dropped off our luggage and changed into our swimsuits. Then we got back on the boat and went and visited several different islands. We came back to our island around 3 and hung out an played cards and swam. I swam across to another island that was about a quarter of a mile away. There were only 3 cabins on the island and only 2 other girls staying on the island with us. The island doesn't have any electricity so they use solar to power the generators a night. The generators went out about 3am. There was a bathroom and a shower. The water for the shower was rain water collected in big 5 gallon barrels. You had to poor water from a bucket into the toilet tank to get it to flush because the toilets weren't plumbed. I'm pretty sure that it all just dumped into the ocean but I tried not to think about that. It was pretty primitive, but we were grateful that we had a little fresh water to wash off the ocean salt and a toilet that flushed. They cooked dinner for us. There was fish or chicken.

San Blas is the tourist name for the islands. They are really called Gunayala.
