We had lots of fun family time this year. One good thing about COVID, it made it so we could all be together. No sports, not school, no camps, etc. Jessy came from Thursday August 6th-Friday August 21st. Josh came with her but went home on the 16th. Ryan and Angela came on the 7th and went home the 14th. It almost didn't happen because of COVID, but it did and we are so glad that it did. NY has been really strict that if you go to certain states, that you have to come home and quarantine. Washington and Idaho were on that list, so Josh and Jessy had to go home and quarantine for 2 weeks after coming. Thanks for sacrificing and coming anyway. (Plus Josh may have tried to sabotage the whole thing by taking a COVID test the Saturday before coming. Luckily it was negative.) But it all worked out and was super fun!
Friday we went swimming at the Guinn's pool
Saturday was Jack and Annie's 6th birthday. They had a fun bouncy house water slide party at Jon and Michelle's house. (I had to work so I didn't get any pictures of my kids on the slide.)
Sunday we had church at Jon and Michelle's. It was really special to be all together for church. In the evening we had shakes at the Guinn's and then did family pictures.
Monday we packed up and went to Spirit Lake. We rented a cabin on Spirit Lake a mile and a half past Silver Beach. Mom and Dad, Marsha, Jessy and Josh, Ryan and Angela, Cam and Rachelle stayed at the cabin. Kirt and I stayed at the trailer (and Tanner). Katie, Garret, Cody, Brandon, and Kathleen slept in a tent out on the grass by the trailer. Jon and Michelle stayed at the Ford's mobile home at Lake Haven (another trailer park at Spirit Lake). We ate breakfast and dinner at the cabin and lunch at the trailer. We spent most of the days playing at the beach at Silver Beach. We played in the water, on the water mat, kayaked and paddle boarded, went on the jet ski, tubed, played volleyball, corn holes, spike ball, board games, and more. And of course we ate and ate and ate. No one quite knows how to eat like the Spears.

The kids rode out to the lake in Katie's care
so Kirt and I got to ride to the lake without kids!

There was this weird stuffed otter in the cabin
Tuesday morning all the kids walked to Bronze Bay and played Duck, Duck, Goose. (I went to the Ford's trailer to get wifi for my core committee meeting and Kirt was at the Brickle Creek Cafe working.)

In the afternoon, everyone went to the cabin to dive off the dock. Look at how straight Garret is diving into the water.

Tanner put Garret's shirt on. It's just a little tight and short.
We were going to watch an outdoor movie for Nixon's birthday, but we couldn't get it to work so we watched one at the cabin instead. We watched Three Amigos.
Wednesday was only 66 degrees for the high. It's August 12th and it's only 66 degrees. Needless to say, we didn't get in the water today. In the morning we went on a 1/2 mile hike in Rathdrum. It was a story book hike. There was a page of a story book every 50 feet or so that you could read. It was a cute idea, but the story was super stupid. Plus there were a bunch of statues of big foot on the hike. Not sure why.
Dancing in the parking lot while we were waiting for everyone to get to the trail head.
Group photo by the big foot.
One of the small big foot statues that were along the trail.
After the hike we went to the park in Spirit Lake.
We played Red Rover at the park.
Kirt and Josh went mountain biking in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, we went back to the cabin and watched TV and played games.
Garret found someone who likes to play Statego with him! Thanks Will!
Playing the name game

Thursday morning, Grammy and Pompa did a scavenger hunt for the kids. Each kid got to find one clue and each had one piece of a puzzle. When they found all the clues, they got to put the puzzle together.
They found all the clues and put the puzzle together!
Trying to decide who is taller, Katie or Brandon. It's pretty close.

Wake surfing!! 1st time all season. We love wake surfing! Go Brandon. It's his first time.

We had lots of fun playing volleyball until I ruined it by spraining my ankle.
While we were playing volleyball, Scarlett was taking that wood from the fire pit and "building a house for Tanner."
