Katie's Week of Fun

Monday she went on a picnic at Manito Park with Mady and Olivia.

Tuesday she went on a hike to Steven's Creek with Alyssa Osborne, Keira Meland, and Ally Mills.

Wednesday she went on a drive and got slurpees with Tanaeya and Makelle Thompson.

Thursday she had a outdoor movie night in the back yard.

 

Saturday Lake Fun

 Kirt, Garret, Jaden, and I went out to the lake Saturday afternoon.  It was super windy and cloudy so it wasn't a very good lake day.  We still had fun reading, playing games, and going on a 4 wheeler ride.  Kirt let Garret and Jaden drive the 4 wheeler.  (I took a nice nap while they were on the 4 wheeler.)  After Katie got off work, she and Mary came out and we went wake surfing.  The water was so choppy that it wasn't very good for wake surfing and we got drenched in boat several times.

Tanner's Favorite Teacher Plus a Couple Other Basketball Pictures

The Idaho basketball team asked all the players who their favorite teacher was and posted it on their Twitter account.  (And a side note, they photo shopped the Idaho uniform onto one of his senior pictures.)

Kirt and I both emailed Tanner's teacher Mike Conklin to thank him.  Here is our emails and his kind responses. (Obviously Kirt and I don't communicate with each other.)

They asked the Idaho basketball players who their favorite teacher was and posted it on Twitter, and Tanner picked you! Just thought I’d share. Thanks for making a difference in his life!

My son Tanner graduated in 2018, and has been on an LDS mission in Argentina the past 2 years, and is now a freshman at Idaho... He listed you as his favorite teacher when his team was asked, just thought you'd like to know :)

Thanks so much for passing that along! I sure enjoyed and appreciated having Tanner in class. I’m excited for all he is to accomplish in Moscow and beyond...a great young man on and off the court and in and out of the classroom. I know how uncomfortable those short Computer work stations were for him-it’s good to hear that didn’t cloud his view of calculus too badly :)

Guys Night at the Lake

Kirt invited some guys out to the lake to wake board.  Unfortunately, he had to fill the boat up with gas before they could go.  It's a pain to fill the boat up with gas because there are no gas pumps on Spirit Lake so you have to fill gas cans and pour it in.

Fun for the Week

Katie is loving that she can driver her friends now and is planning all kinds of fun things.  On Tuesday, she, Mary, Tanaeya, Garret, and Jaden loaded their bikes in the Sequoia and rode on the Centennial Trail to a little swimming hole that we like on the Spokane River.  They had fun swimming and jumping off the rocks. 

 Wednesday Katie, Mary, Tanaeya, Garret, and Jaden went to the lake.

 

 Thursday Katie, Olivia, and Garret went to the lake.

Lake Time

Michelle and I went to the lake Tuesday and Friday this week.  We love the lake!

 Garret likes to swim out the buoy and back and get timed doing it.  His best time was 3 minutes and 19 seconds.

Home Church

This is how we do church these day.  It's been a long 5 plus months since we have been to church.  We have liked having home church but sometimes it's hard to be reverent at home.
