What Are You Thankful For?

We were having our Thanksgiving dinner and of course we were going around the table saying what we were thankful for. Totally unprompted Garret said that he was thankful for the hot tub and the lawn mower. He absolutely loves those two things.

Katie's Thanksgiving Program

Katie's class did a little Thanksgiving program today in their class. They sang 3 songs about turkeys, told us what they were thankful for, and gave us pumpkin muffins that they had made for us the day before.

A New Level of Tattle Telling

So before church last week, I told the kids to go and get a healthy snack, and then I went upstairs to finish getting ready. A few minutes later Katie comes running upstairs yelling that Garret was eating cookies. Then she says that she could prove it and shows me a picture that she had taken with my phone of Garret eating cookies. What are they going to think of next?

Where's Everybody?

One of Garret's favorite thing to do each day, is say "Where's Tanner? Where's Katie?" And on and on with about everyone he knows. He has even added the 2 neighbor kids who walk to school with Tanner and Katie to the list. I get so tired of answering that I now say "you know where they are" when he asks where all the various people he knows are. Another piece of background for the story is that Kirt gets up each morning and spends about a half hour sitting on the toilet going to the bathroom, reviewing his day on his iphone, and reading. So the other day as we were on our way from the gym, he says "where's daddy?" I of course say "you know where he is". And he says, "home on the potty."

Garret's 50's Day and Tights

This morning when I was getting Garret dressed, he said that he wanted to wear tights. I told him that boys don't wear tights and put him in jeans and a shirt. Then I went running. When I came home, this is what he was wearing. The skirt Katie had worn the day before for 50's day, as well as Katie's tights and tennis shoes. He is such a crazy kid.

Garret Sings Monkeys on the Bed

50's Day at School

It was the 50th day of school, and Katie's teacher told them they could dress in 50's style. We had a nice friend who shared this cute skirt with Katie. It's she adorable.

Tanner's Omument Project

Tanner had to build a monument of his choose out of the medium of his choice for his Able Learners class. He chose to build the Dubai Tower out of Legos. Then he, along with the others in his group, had to tell his class some interesting facts about their monuments.

Garret's Funny Sayings

Garret just came up to me wearing Katie's soccer socks and shin guards and said "who taking me to practice?"

A couple of weeks ago, Kirt took Garret to Blockbuster with him to get some movies. Garret was looking at the movies on the shelves. He turned around and saw a scary movie with a skull and cross bones on it. He proceeded to place his hands on his cheeks, scream and run down the movie isle. Kirt said that everyone at Blockbuster thought he was hilarious.

A couple of months ago, we were eating dinner at my mom and dad's. Jon and his family were there too. We were all laughing about the fact that Jon calls my mom Lord Vader. Garret starts laughing his fake laugh along with us. I asked him, "Garret, do you even know who Darth Vader is?" He replies "Yeah, Grammy is!" Now he says all the time "Grammy Darth Vader". (Actually it's more like, Dammy Darth Vader, because he can't say his G's very well.)
