Backpacking trip

Kirt took Katie and Tanner on a backpacking adventure. They went to 4th of July pass in Idaho where Kirt takes the YW camping alot. There are some warming huts and trails that cross country skiiers use in the winter. They hiked about a mile in, set up camp in the warming hut and then made a fire and roasted smores. Kirt said that Katie kept asking Kirt while they were hiking if he was sure he knew where they were going and if he really knew how to make a fire. They spent the night in the warming hut. In the morning they got up and had hot chocolate and bacon and scrambled eggs and donuts and then hiked the mile back out. As you can see, Tanner carried a real backpacking pack and Katie carried her Dora backpack. They had a great time.

Katie's 2nd day of Preschool

Katie was so cute on her 2nd day of school that I had to take more pictures of her. She loves this outfit. She picked it out herself.

Darling Kids

The kids all happened to be wearing red, black and white this Sunday before church so I had to get their pictures. Aren't they adorable.

Katie's 1st day of Preschool

Katie gets to go to teacher Barbara this year. She is a lady in our stake who teaches preschool and she is wonderful. All the kids love her.

Tanner's 1st day of 3rd grade

It's back to school time. Tanner is in the 3rd grade. I can't believe he is that old. He has Mrs. Beckemeier this year.

Spear Family Reunion

So we all got together for a family reunion. It was a little crazy but lots of fun. Jessy, Josh and Will came from NY. Ryan and Angela, Kathleen, Brandon and Cody came from Boise. My Grandma Worthen, Aunt Marsha and Uncle Jim came from Price. We went to the lake, biked the hiawatha trail, had the Spear family Olympics, and went swimming just to name a few of the things that we did. And of course we ate, and ate, and ate, and ate. Wow we sure ate a lot. I thing I gained 5 pounds over the weekend. The cousins had so much fun playing together. We wished that they all lived closer so that we could hang out all the time.

Random Cute pictures from the family reunion

Tanner and Kathleen mowing the lawn at Grammy and Pompa's house.
Katie and Kathleen in the dress up clothes. Grammy has an awesome dress up box. She has saved all of Jessy and my old dance outfits from when we were little.

Concert in the Park (or Grammy and Pompa's backyard)

This guy in our stake named Cory Jenkins came and gave us a little concert in my mom and dad's backyard on Monday night. He sings and plays his guitar. He sings fun children's songs about animals and going to school. He also juggles. He even juggled fire. It was awesome.

Pool Time

Monday afternoon we went swimming in our pool. The kids had a lot of fun because uncle Jon is so strong and can throw them really high.

Family Pictures at Manato

Sunday we all attended the 10th ward together. It was really neat. I can't tell you the last time that our whole family has been to church together. After church we went to Manato park and had family pictures taken.

Rock Band

Saturday night was Rock Band time. We had 2 guitarists, 1 drummer and 1 singer. We are just so talented. Don't forget your ear plugs.

Spear Family Olympics

Here's the kids with the countries that they are going to represent for the Olympic Games.

100 yard dash

Shot Put

Discus throw

Balloon Toss
Long jump

3 legged race

Tug of war Obstacle Course

Medal ceremony
My dad brought out this game after the Olympics were over. You try and pull the other person off their bucket without falling off of your own or letting go.

We decided that we would have the Olympic games for the kids last Saturday morning. Of course when the adults saw how much fun it looked, they had to participate in some of the events too. We had each of the kids choose a country that they wanted to represent and made them a flag with a number on it for them to wear. Then we had an opening ceremony. Then came the events. We had a 100 meter dash, a shot put, a discus throw, the long jump a.k.a the standing broad jump, a water balloon toss, 3 legged race, obstacle course, and a tug of war. Bet you didn't know that some of these were Olympic events. Of course no Olympics would be complete without a medal ceremony. Each child was awarded with a Gold Rice Krispy Medal. It was lots of fun.
