Halloween 2019

Trick or treating at U-High.  Michelle and I took Scarlett to the high school to trick or treat.  Best trick or treating ever.  We were there for 15 minutes and her bucket was entirely full.  Plus it is warm because it is inside!

We found Katie and her princess crown.  She didn't want to wear her whole costume to school so she just worn the crown.

Jon and family came to spend Halloween with us.  We had jack o' lantern pumpkins from Papa Murphy's and went trick or treating.
Ike was Luigi, Sadie's friend Joanna was Hermione, Sadie was Audrey from Descendants, Nixon was a shark and Scarlett was a pig.
Garret and his buddies Kowen Sanders and Jaden Thompson wore 3 different costumes.  They kept raiding the costume bin so that they could find different costumes so they could keep going back to the houses that were giving out full sized candy bars.

Let the trading begin.  They dumped out all of their candy and traded to get their favorites.
Katie borrowed this costume from Michelle.  She wanted to be a princess.  It was Michelle's grandma's wedding dress. She never actually wore it in on Halloween, but she was very beautiful in it  so I had to put the pictures on the blog.

Cruise Day 10

Tami, Ben, Kristie, Brett, Marci, and Brad went home early this (Monday) morning.  Kirt and I stayed on Vieques for the day.  We talked to Tanner in the morning, then we spent the day exploring the island.  We went to several beaches, had lunch, and then flew back to Puerto Rico.

The hotel we are staying in is so sketchy. The toilet is falling into the ground, there is mold on the walls, no hot water, some really gross stuff was on our towels.

Sitting on a bench in Vieques talking to Tanner
Riding around in the golf cart
We saw this jeep sitting on the side of the road.  It was covered in random figurines.
There are wild horses all over the island.
Very narrow roads with the vegetation growing out over them
 Playa Grande

Playa Negra (Black sand beach)
We had to walk about 15 minutes threw a stream bed to get to Playa Negra

Sun Bay beach.  We went swimming here for about an hour.  We were the only ones on the beach.  Then we hosed off in the showers and went to lunch.

Fortin Conde De Mirasol Museum.  The museum was closed but there was pretty view from the grounds.

We flew home in the tiny plane.  It only held 8 people.  We were sitting right behind the pilot like we were riding in a car.  The views were incredible.

 View of Old San Juan
We went to a BBQ restaurant for dinner.  I was super excited about it.  I was tired and ready to be home.

Cruise Day 9

Sunday we got up early and said goodbye. Then Tami, Ben, Marci, Brad, Brett, Kristie, Kari, Kirt, and I rented 2 cars. We went into the El Yunque National forest and did a short hike to a waterfall. Then we stopped for lunch at the kiosks and a view of Luquio Beach. Then we drove and took a ferry to the island of Vieques off of Puerto Rico. Kari didn’t come with us. She had to fly back early Monday morning. On the island we rented 2 gold carts and went and explored the island. We swam at Caracas beach. Then we drove over to the area called Esperanza and had dinner and met our tour for the Bioluminescence Bay. We rode glass bottom kayaks in the bay and saw the algae that glow when they are stirred up. It was super cool. There were tons of them and they glowed really brightly. We had to ride the golf carts back in the pouring rain to our hotel afterwards. It was an adventure.
