Foot Wound

I had a cut on my foot but it was almost better.  I filed it down and washed it out good and thought it was all better, but about an hour later it started to hurt so badly.  It hurt all Thursday afternoon and I hardly slept Thursday night.  On Friday morning it looked like this.  I called Dr. Woolley and sent him a picture and he said that I needed to drain it, and he called me in an antibiotic.  I couldn't drain it myself because I am a chicken so I went into work and my friend Katie Dixon did it for me.  She poked it with a needle and the squeezed it and got tons of gross pus out of it.  I did it again Friday afternoon and thankfully by Saturday it was feeling so much better. It's amazing how much a sore on a foot can hurt.

Date to Iller Creek

Katie went on a double date with Rhett Hatcher and Madison and Elijah.  They got up early and hiked to the top of Iller Creek and watched the sun rise.

Playing with cousins

Katie had to work Friday and Saturday so she didn't get to come to the lake with us, but she got to hang out with her cousins instead.  Brandon, Kathleen, and, Cody spent the night with Katie Friday night.
Then they all got up Saturday morning and went to Grammy's for breakfast.
Saturday night they got to hang out again.  They had a BBQ at Jon's house (even though Jon is out of town) with all of the Ryan Spear family and Grammy and Pompa and Cam's kids (Grammy was babysitting because its Rachelle's birthday).  We got home from the lake and went to the BBQ too for a bit.  Then Kathleen and Brandon came and hung out at our house Saturday night for a bit.  Then they went to play games with Grammy and Pompa.  Kathleen spent the night with Katie.

Sunday morning we had cinnamon rolls, egg casserole and orange julius at our house with Ryan and Cam's family and Grammy and Pompa.  We did come follow me and had the sacrament too.

Katie's New Job

Katie got a new job at Hobby Lobby.  She is going to work there stocking shelves.  Today was her first day.  She was just training so she didn't have to wear her Hobby Lobby vest.

Lake for the Week

Michelle and I went to the lake on Tuesday.  I took Scarlett, Ike, and Sadie with me to the lake because Michelle had a Dr. appointment and Nikon had basketball practice.  They came out later.  Scarlett was a watching a movie in the back seat and must have gotten car sick because she threw up right when we got to the town of Spirit Lake.  Luckily it was all on her dress and we were able to get her dress off without making a mess.  Grammy came out in the afternoon too.  It was a beautiful day at the lake. Before Michelle, Nixon and Grammy got there, I took Ike, Scarlett, and Sadie on the 4 wheeler into town to get a part of the hose that had broken.  We got ice cream cones at Millers too.  On the way back we got pulled over by the police.  I was so scared that I was going to get another ticket, but he was nice and just told me that if we were going to ride the 4 wheeler in town that the kids needed to have helmets.

Kirt, Tanner, Garret, and I went to the lake Friday night and spent the night and stayed all day Saturday.  Kirt and Tanner kayaked down Brickle Creek.  They didn't go as high as Kirt and I did last time and only ran into a few trees.  They made it down and into Spirit Lake and then kayaked across the lake back to Silver Beach.

Grand Tetons and Yellowstone

When we left the family reunion on Friday, we drove up to Provo and spent an hour with my friend Candice and her family.  (Of course I forgot to take a picture.) Then we drove and stayed the night in Idaho Falls.  We went to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner while we waited for a prescription for Tanner.  He has an ear infection and Dr. Skidmore called in some antibiotic drops for his ear.  On Saturday we went to Grand Teton National Parks.  We came into the Tetons from the south and drove along Moose-Wilson Road.

We stopped and did a 2 mile hike out and back to the Phelps Lake overlook on Death Canyon Trail. View of Phelps Lake.

We stopped and had lunch at Dornans.

Then we rode up to Jenny Lake.  We took the shuttle boat across the lake and walked up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Peak.  That was about 2 miles. Then we walked 2.5 miles around Jenny Lake back to where we took the shuttle boat across.

As you leave the Tetons from the North, you enter into Yellowstone National Park.  We stopped and took a quick picture at Lewis Falls.
West stopped at Lower Geyser Basin on our way before leaving the park through the west entrance.  Everyone was a little antsy to get home.
