Vernal Trip

We snuck in a visit to Vernal after the MTC and before heading to Honduras to say good-bye to all of Kirt's family.  Kyden came with us and we got to know him.  He seems like a really great kid.  Mark took us on this really cool Via Ferrata that is brand new in Vernal.  It was cool but a little hard and scary (at least for me.  The kids didn't think so).  We went to dinner after for Tami's birthday.  We also played pickle ball and volleyball (Kyden is really good at volleyball.). Garret beat Grandpa in Settlers.

Aaron and his family were out of town, but all of Kirt's other siblings came to visit.

On Our Way to the MTC

We left Spokane and headed to Utah tomorrow.  We are getting set apart as missionaries tomorrow morning. It's getting a little too real.  Garret is coming down with us for the setting apart and is going to hang out with Katie while we are in the MTC.  Then he is flying home to Spokane to do home MTC with my parents.  My sweet parents are driving down to Utah for our setting apart.  They are also driving our boat down to drop it off to Brett, Kirt's brother, who is buying it from us.  They are so nice.  When we got to the Salt Lake airport, we got a shuttle to our hotel. (There were some elders waiting for us at the airport to help us with our suitcases.  They didn't recognize us because we were the only mission leaders that weren't dressed up.  Oops.  We aren't set apart yet so we didn't even think about dressing up.) Then Katie came and picked us up and we went to Joel and Tamara's lake house and they took us wake surfing.  We had to sneak one last wake surf in before we left on our mission.  Then we came back to Salt Lake and had dinner and walked around temple square.

Katie was trying to dip Garret.  It didn't end so well, but we all got a good laugh out of it.

Our friends were so sweet and through us a going away party.  It would have been a wonderful evening if it hadn't been the goodbye part.  We have the best friends ever and it was so wonderful to visit with them.  I am gong to miss them so much.  Unfortunately we forgot to take every many pictures but we did get a few.

Moving Day

Today we moved out of our home that we have lived in for almost 22 years.  Tanner was 3 when we moved here and we brought Katie and Garret home from the hospital to this house.  It is so hard to leave it.  We have had so many good memories here.  The people that are buying it are named the Coy's, Bryan and Mallory.  Mallory grew up here and her parents Jeff and Diane Kipp still live here.  They have 3 children, a 10 year old boy, 8 year old girl, and 5 year old boy (or something close to that), just like we did-boy, girl, boy.  They will be in the ward.  Hopefully they love the house as much as we did.  They wanted a lot of our furniture, so we just left it for them.  Everything we own is now in a 10 foot by 5 foot storage container.  We are staying with my mom and dad until we leave for the MTC on June 17th.
