Katie's Sophomore Basketball Season 2019-2020

Katie is on the Varsity Basketball team at University High School.  Her teammates are Tyler McCliment-Call, Jackson McCliment-Call, Ellie Boni, CarolAnn Edwards, Chloe Moore, Ryan Griep,  Allie Mills, Paige Jess, Krista Elliott, Alyssa Osborne, and Ellianna Ramirez.  There are 12 players on the varsity team.  For every game, 10 of them are going to suit up for varsity, and 2 of them will play with the JV.  It can be a different 2 for each game depending on their performance, attitude, and effort.  The coaches are Jay Kennedy and Ray Shill.

On November 29th, it was the player vs player scrimmage.  They played 2-15 minutes halves against each other.  Katie played really well.  She had 5 points in the first half.  She also played great defense.

On November 30th, they had the Valley Jamboree with CV, East Valley, and West Valley.  They played a 10 minute game with WV 1st.  They lost 12-18.  Katie played for about 2 minutes.  Then they played EV and tied 14-14.  Katie didn't get to play.

Frozen 2

We went with Michelle and her kids to see Frozen 2 at the Downtown theater.  We didn't take any pictures at the theater of course, but Katie and Garret took a few in the car ride down.  Katie and Garret didn't want to go, but they ended up really liking it.

Thanksgiving 2019

This year we had Thanksgiving at Jon and Michelle's house.  It was just us, Jon's family, and Cam's family.  No mom and dad.  We missed them lots.  Katie and I went for a walk before dinner (well actually lunch.  We ate at 1pm.)  It was so cold out.  We stopped by Barney's on the way home and got a paper for the Black Friday ads.  We went to Thanksgiving lunch from 1-4.  Then we came home and had naps and watched the Gonzaga game.  Then the Crandall's came over and visited for a few hours.  When they went home, we watched part of the Han Solo movie.  We are watching all of the movies in order before we go see the last movie on Christmas day.
Here is what we are thankful for:
Ender: bed
Scarlett: key lime pie
Ollie: he said he was grateful for his butt, but his mom said he couldn't say that so he said he was grateful for his nice bed
Maddie: her dad
Ike: baking
Sadie: food
Nixon: school
Garret: free country
Katie: socks and gloves
Cam: family and cars
Rachelle: home
Michelle: medicine
Jon: health
Emily: google hangouts
Kirt: democratic process

Whoosh Kevin

When BYU is playing at the Marriott Center and they make a free-throw, the entire crowd says Whoosh Kevin in honor of my uncle Kevin who is the president of BYU.  BYU was playing in the Maui Classic and the game was on ESPN and at one of the time outs, they were showing a bunch of BYU players swishing 3 pointers.  After they showed that clip, they flashed the Whoosh Kevin on the screen.  Kevin is famous.

It was the high school basketball tryouts this week and Katie made varsity.  She was so excited! Her hard work and practicing has paid off.  She got her travel gear this week and had to try it on.

Garret Gets His Braces Off

Garret got his braces off today! He only had to wear them for about 19 months.  It makes him look so grown up.
Right before he got them off
Right after he got them off
Katie and Garret think that their smiles look a lot alike now.

Garret's 7th Grade Basketball Season

Garret is playing on the Bullets again this year.  He coaches are still RJ Del Mese and Brandon Florence.  His teammates are Jack Del Mese, Jack Florence, Quinn Derzay, Gavin Zehm, Jaeger Grimsby, Cameron Cantillana, Trevor Dunham, Brandon Spunich (all the same boys as last year).
They are playing in the AAU league and the competitive YMCA league so they have games on Saturday and Monday.

Garret and Nixon had a game at the same time so we had to get a picture of them together.
 Check out Nixon's silly socks!
