Today was a rough day. We got up at 6am and drove the hour to the David airport. We were in line to check in and they announced that our flight would be delayed until 4pm and possibly not fly our at all today. We were supposed to fly the 1 hour to the Panama City Airport and arrive around 9am to catch our 3pm flight to Atlanta today. So we knew we were definitely not going to make the flight. There is only one flight out of Panama a day to Atlanta, which is the only place that Delta flys from Panama, so we had to rebook to the same flight out of Panama the next day. We debated staying the night in David, trying to catch the 8am flight from David to Panama so that we could get our 3pm flight to Atlanta. But after the awesome experience we have already had with Copa Airlines, we decided to rent another car and drive the 7 hour drive to Panama City. We were hoping to get the same car back, but it was already rented. So we were able to get a car, but it was much smaller. It was a pretty cramped ride with the 4 of us and all of our luggage, but we made it in. Katie had her 2 huge mission suitcases, so that's why we had so much luggage. Kirt got to fulfill one of his dreams and drive on the Pan-American highway from David to Panama. It was beautiful. We got to Panama City and rented a hotel and walked over to the mall for dinner and then crashed. It was a long day.
We drove by the church in David that Katie attended while she was serving there.
