Tanner's University of Idaho Graduation

Tanner graduated from the University of Idaho Summa Cum Laude (top 3% of his class)!  Way to go Tanner! We are so proud of you!

Tanner's graduation announcement

Emilie took these pictures of Tanner so that I could make Tanner's graduation announcement.  She did an awesome job!

I didn't even know that Tanner had an Idaho letterman jacket until he was graduating.

Walking in to the graduation ceremony. He had to line up an hour and a half before the ceremony started.  He was already not happy about that, but then it was raining so he really wasn't excited.  At least he found a building to stand under so he didn't get too wet.  He was also not very happy when he found out that the graduation ceremony was going to be 2 1/2 hours long.  I think he wouldn't have walked if he hadn't have already bought he cap and gown. Katie and Garret were given the choice to go to youth conference or go to Tanner's graduation.  They choose youth conference.  It wasn't too bad.  At least we had our phones to read and play games on.

Pictures after the graduation ceremony

We went to dinner at Gambino's Pizza after the graduation ceremony. We are so excited that Tanner graduated but a little sad because it means that he and Emilie are moving away.  We have loved having them so close!

Tanner's diploma that doesn't actually have a real diploma in it.
His diploma came in the mail

Ike's Baptism

Ike got baptized on Friday the 13th.  It was a very appropriate day for his baptism.  He did a family baptism and it was just Ike that got baptized that day.  Ike had originally asked Katie to do a talk on baptism and Garret to do a talk on the Holy Ghost.  Katie told him that she would be out of town so Ike said he would find someone else to do a talk on baptism.  When we got there, Garret was on the program to do the talk on baptism and Sadie to do the talk on the Holy Ghost.  Garret had a talk prepared on the Holy Ghost.  We told Michelle and she said it was ok that we just wouldn't have a talk on baptism and that Sadie didn't really want to give her talk on the Holy Ghost so Garret could just give his.  I was on the program to be the chorister and didn't know it.  It was just kind of a cluster of craziness.  But Ike, Scarlett, and Sadie sang When I am Baptized and Nixon played the piano and it was so sweet.  And Ike was just beaming when he came out of the changing room after being baptized so it made up for the fact that the kids were all trying to climb over the glass to see into the baptismal front and Scarlett had her PJ's on under her dress and yelled cookies as soon as the closing prayer was done.  Just another fun day in the Spear family.

Emily's 46th Birthday

It was a good birthday.  Just wish I didn't have to actually get any older. Grammy put a sign on the house for my birthday.  Katie left this morning to go see Elise, so she put hearts all over the house with things that she loves about me.  There were supposed to be 46 of them, but I could only find 43.  Katie is not the best counter so I'm not sure if I just cant find 3 of them, or if there just are actually only 43.  But it is a very sweet though.  Tanner and Garret both got me cards.  I got to go to lunch with my friends, Tiffani, Michelle, Delphia, Artie, Heather, and Shauna.  Then I got to watch Garret play and win his tennis match.  After the match, Kirt, Garret, and my mom and dad went to dinner with me at Red Robin.  It's nice to be celebrated.

Katie's Trip to Visit Elise

Katie went to Berthoud Colorado to visit Elise before Elise leaves on her mission to McAllen Texas.  They went hiking several times, went to see the new Dr Strange movie, went to the Fort Collins temple, ate some good food, and just hung out and visited.  It will be 2 1/2 years or so before they get so see each other in person.

Mother's Day 2022

It was a wonderful Mother's Day.  All my kids were home and they spoiled me.  They made me a delicious breakfast of strawberry waffles.  Katie had also made me blueberry scones. We went to church with Grammy and heard her speak.  Then we went back to our ward and I got to go to RS and visit with my ward sisters and have pie.  After church we played games.  Grammy and Pompa came for dinner (plus Ayla a YW in our ward who Katie is semi babysitting this weekend), and then Jon and Cameron and their families came for dessert.
