China Trip Day 3

Today we woke up and watched the Gonzaga game. They played Florida State and beat them.  The wifi wasn't very good but we were able to see most of the game. Then we went an walked around the Bund. The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Then we took the the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel that goes under the Huangpu River. Then we went up the Jin Mao Tower to the 88th floor to see a view of Shanghai.  After that we went to the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. Then in the evening we went to the Shanghai Circus World.

The Monument to the People's Heroes located on the Bund. The structure was built by the Shanghai municipal government in the 1993 to commemorate revolutionary martyrs, as well as those who have lost their lives fighting natural disasters. The structure stands 24 metres (79 ft) tall, and is built in the stylized shape of three rifles leaning against each other.

The flowers along the Bund were so beautiful. This one was made with tons of individual 3 inch pots  put into the wall.

Statue of Mao Zedong. He was a Chinese communist revolutionary who became the founding father of the People's Republic of China, which he ruled as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China from its establishment in 1949 until his death in 1976.

The Bund Bull is just like the one on Wall Street in NY City.

The Bund is a famous place to take wedding photos.

Yao Ming's jersey was hanging up in the Jin Mao Tower.
In the middle of the Jin Mao Tower you could see all the way down to the lobby. It was really weird to look down over the edge.
More views of Shanghai as we walked to the aquarium.

Pictures from the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium.

The aquarium had these cool fish tunnels.  One of them had a sign on it that it was the longest fish tunnel in the world.

Restaurant that we ate at after the aquarium.
We went to this awesome acrobatic show called Shanghai Circus World.

This acrobat could do all kinds of tricks on this pole.  She was so strong.

These acrobats could do awesome tricks on bikes while the bikes were moving.

This acrobat could balance on this board and launch plates off the end of the board onto his head.

These acrobats dove and flipped through these rings.  They kept adding more rings to make the dives higher and higher.

 Contortionist acrobats.

This acrobat could balance this heavy pot on his head and spin it and do all kinds of tricks with it.
These acrobats did awesome tricks with these 2 ribbons.

 More feats of strength

These acrobats used teeter-totters to launch people in the air and then would catch them on their shoulders.

This acrobat used this flexible pole like a trampoline and could do all kinds of tricks.  There was a guy on a trampoline behind her that was doing cool tricks too.

This whole thing spun around while the acrobats did tricks like jumping rope on top of the circles.
These acrobats could balance and spin the plates on their sticks.
They had up to 7 motorcycles driving around in this cage at one time.  It was crazy.
Katie and Garret loved the show, but they were so tired that they kept nodding off.
