Africa Day 11

We had a wonderful day on the beach today on Macanta Island today in Mozambique.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Smooth white sand for miles and miles and hardly anyone was one the beach (it is winter here, but it was still 75 degrees).

There were some fishermen fishing on the beach when we first got there.  Their net was huge and they were in 2 lines pulling the net in.  They unfortunately didn't get a very big catch.  They did get enough shrimp for our dinner though.  Kirt bought all the shrimp and brought it to the cooks at our hotel and they cooked it up for our dinner.  It was delicious.  A little creepy though, I have never shelled my shrimp before.

The shrimp we are going to eat for dinner

 Here it is!
 Beautiful plant at our hotel

Our chalet we stayed in.  It was a really nice place but a little quirky.  When we got here, the kids immediately wanted to go down to the beach.  They weren't supposed to go in, but of coarse Garret accidentally got wet so I told them they could go in in their clothes.  When we came back to our room, I through them in the shower.  I noticed there were no towels, so I went to ask for them.  They said that there we no towels at all until tomorrow morning.  How can you run a hotel and not have any towel?
