Church History Trip Day 6

This morning we got up and took a bunch of pictures from the Canada side of Niagara Falls.  Then we rode down a Funicular and went on the Hornblower Cruise.  We rode very close to Horseshoe Falls.  We got soaking wet.  Luckily we had ponchos.  Jessy's family came up to our hotel room after the cruise to see the view from our room.  We said goodbye to them and we continued on our trip and Jessy and her family went home.  We drove to Kirtland Ohio.  We went on a tour of the Kirtland Temple.  It is still the original temple.  It is owned by the Community of Church (what used to be the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ).  The tour was so obviously different than the other tours we had done and lacking the spirit.  Then we went to the Kirtland visitors center.  We watched a video about the time that the saints were in Kirtland.  We went on a tour of the sites that are there which include the Newel K. Whitney house and General Store.  Joseph and Emma lived there for a year and a half.  Also the school of the prophets was held in an upstairs room in the store.  We toured the Johnson Inn, the Ashery and the Saw Mill.
